Kate Richie Denies Beef With Longtime Friend Bec Hewitt
Kate Ritchie has set the record straight about her alleged feud with longtime friend Bec Hewitt.
Speaking on Nova’s Kate, Tim and Marty, she was asked by Marty Sheargold about the “craziest story” that’s been made up about her over the years.
“I think my favourite, which is one of the latest ones, is that I’ve been at war and am at war with Bec Hewitt,” said Ritchie, “And the fact that we’re not talking because Bec didn’t ever come to meet my baby, which is actually not true at all”.
The story appeared not long after Ritchie gave birth to her daughter Mae in August 2014.
“I think it started around this time last year at race time where Bec was friendly and kind of said, ‘Oh no I haven’t yet met the baby,’ and that became this scandalous thing.”
Kate, who was a bridesmaid at Bec’s wedding to Lleyton in 2005, told her Nova co-hosts on air yesterday that, “Bec has met Mae (her daughter) numerous times and we’ve socialised together as families”.
