The MC2 Girls Are Breaking Down Stereotypes for Our Young Girls and They Are Back with a New Season!

The MC2 Girls Are Breaking Down Stereotypes for Our Young Girls and They Are Back!

Is your tween already a fan of the MC2 girls? If not, you might want to check them out together. Unlike many TV series aimed at girls in this age group the show aims to dismantle stereotypes associated with STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects, showing girls that it’s not only boys who can excel in these areas.

Adrienne, Bryden, Camryn and McKeyla are science-loving spies who make being smart cool and the much awaited Season 2 is due to hit Netflix on Friday 12 August 2016.

In addition to presenting tweens with racially diverse, and intelligent role models, MC2 also promotes other positive messages, such as the value of friendship, respect, determination and working together as a team. Between them there is no limit to what they can accomplish.

Despite the strong ‘girl power’ message this show’s appeal isn’t limited to  young girls (aged 7 and over.) The cool science experiments and awesome gadgets also makes this a viewing experience that appeals to boys too.

The show also includes some pretty cool examples of science experiments that kids can do at home with their parents, encouraging kids to explore the science that they have seen on screen by putting it into action themselves!  How cool is that?

Mc2 Season 2 is airing on Netflix Friday 12 August 2016

Jolene

Jolene

Jolene enjoys writing, sharing and connecting with other like-minded women online – it also gives her the perfect excuse to ignore Mount-Washmore until it threatens to bury her family in an avalanche of Skylander T-shirts and Frozen Pyjama pants. (No one ever knows where the matching top is!) Likes: Reading, cooking, sketching, dancing (preferably with a Sav Blanc in one hand), social media, and sitting down on a toilet seat that one of her children hasn’t dripped, splashed or sprayed on. Dislikes: Writing pretentious crap about herself in online bio’s and refereeing arguments amongst her offspring.
