Meshel Laurie Opens up About How She Was Treated at Nova Radio
TV and radio personality Meshel Laurie has opened up about being treated like a “disposable dish rag and a fool” after being replaced on her Nova radio show after 13 years.
Meshel started her new role yesterday alongside Matt Tilley on KIIS FM, but spoke to Confidential about being replaced by Chrissie Swan last year.
“I never ever thought I would leave Nova as long as I live,” she said.
“I’m a very loyal person and I lived through some very hard times at that network and worked with some very tricky personalities, mainly in Brisbane, and I stuck with it and I gave it everything I had.
“Then it all got a bit strange, and I found out I was leaving Nova through lots of strange channels but not from the executives.
“I worked with executives for 13 years and had great relationships with them, but I didn’t even get a text message in the end.”
