We most recently saw him in the Seven telemovie Molly, but now Samuel Johnson has announced that he is quitting acting for good.
In a post to his Facebook account for the cancer awareness charity he runs, Love Your Sister, he wrote a letter which detailed that he was quitting the business to focus on raising awareness for the charity and the disease.
‘I think this is the best place for me to announce my retirement from acting, after nearly 25 years!’ he wrote. ‘I can’t act anymore. Not if I’m to serve you properly. This village means everything to me and I’m tired of other things dragging me away from you. ‘It all started with a promise to my crook sister. I unicycled for her. As I squiggled my way slowly through this brilliant f***ing country of ours, I met many of you in person, in the same boat as me, and soon enough I was riding for all of us, for every family in this country being terrorised by cancer.’
He ended the post, by saying: ‘Here’s to kicking cancer in the face-hole once and for all.’
