20 years ago, Now and Then hit our screens.
It told the story of four teenage girls – Gaby Hoffman, Christina Ricci, Thora Birch and Ashleigh Aston Moore – who were coming of age in 1970.
Demi Moore, Rosie O’Donnell, Melanie Griffith and Rita Wilson played the grown women.
The original films director, Lesli Linker Glatter, confirmed that a remake has been discussed between her and writer Marlene King.
“I’m very friendly with the woman who wrote it, Marlene King, so yes, a remake has come up. It seems to be with this film especially, young women have come of age on it and I love that; that was one of the reasons we made it, there hadn’t been anything done about young girls growing up.”
Sadly, Ashleigh Aston Moore passed away in 2007 after a reported drug overdose.
