The president of The Public Health Association of Australia was quoted as saying, “There is a very real possibility that a baby may die if this book goes ahead.”

A spokeswoman for the Federal Health Department last night said it had “great concerns” about the book.

“The department has been investigating this book and has great concerns about the inadequate nutrition value of some of the recipes,” she said.

Pete co-wrote the book with baby recipe blogger Charlotte Carr, wife of 2008 Australian Idol winner Wes, and naturopath Helen Padarin.
