Pirates of The Caribbean 5 to Start Filming on the Gold Coast Next Week!

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed on Twitter that Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, will start filming on the Gold Coast on the 12th February.

He posted a photo along with the confirmation of a set being built for the production – a medieval village in Maudsland, in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Aussie Geoffrey Rush, who plays Captain Hector Barbossa in the film, and Jerry have been seen on the Gold Coast recently, but star Johnny Depp isnt expected to arrive until next week as he is currently in the Bahamas.

Reports are saying he and fiance Amber Heard are getting married while they are there before he heads here to begin filming.

Insiders say the film’s first job will be at sea — to shoot background footage to be projected on to “blue screens” indoors at Village Roadshow Studios and outdoors at two large, temporary studios at Helensvale.
