Real Housewives of Melbourne’s Gina Liano Hopes to Kick Start TV Career

Real Housewives of Melbourne star Gina Liano will make her debut on Neighbours on Tuesday night and is now hoping that her TV career will take off.
Gina has joined the cast as the adoptive mother of Olivia Valance’s character Paige.
“I play Mary Smith and I’ve been in Singapore and decided I needed to reconnect with her so I turn up out of the blue,” Gina said.
“They didn’t write me out of the script and the last episode I’m in it’s sort of open-ended and I think they’ve done that deliberately because the character herself, she’s a significant part of a main character’s life. Unless they set me up to die in a plane crash or car accident or we have a serious falling out, which hasn’t happened to date, then there’s provision for me to come back, and I suspect I will get an invitation back if there’s wedding bells or anything significant happens in her life.”
Gina says she would now love to take on a more gritty role, and has been told by Fremantle Media that this is possibly on the cards.
“I’d love to do Wentworth. I think it would be so much fun playing a tough chick who’s got a bit of an attitude. And I wouldn’t be getting into trouble for it because there would be an expectation. I’m not allowed to be rough on Real Housewives; I get savaged.”
