The X Factor host Olly Murs made a huge mistake in a live show this week – telling a contestant she was going home before the decision was actually made!
After Olly and his co-host Caroline Flack asked the judges to choose who they wanted to send home between Monica Michael and Anton Stephans, Murs told Michael ”Unfortunately Monica you are going home I’m afraid,” before Flack said: “No, Olly, she’s not, nope”
Murs then said: “Sorry. I apologise for that. Sorry Monica. I do apologise. I made a mistake. I do apologise.”
Olly thought three out of the four judges had chosen to send Monica home, meaning that she would have been automatically out of the competition, but instead it was only two, meaning it was “deadlock” and would go back to the public vote.
A very embarrassed Olly later tweeted: ‘I apologise to everyone tonight I made a massive f%#k up at the end. It was so tense!! I’m still learning & hope that never happens again!’
