Thredbo survivor Stuart Diver has sadly lost his second wife to breast cancer.
Rosanna Cossettini passed away on Saturday at the age of 40,
Rosanna and Stuart have a daughter together, 4-year-old Alessia.
Stuart revealed to Woman’s Day four years ago – just after the birth of Alessia – that his wife’s diagnosis with breast cancer shortly after they married in 2002 almost crushed his spirit.
“I really did think it was unfair,” admitted Stuart. “I went through all these emotions,” he says. “I thought is Rosanna going to die? It made me doubt a lot of things. Why me – again? It was a big blow, but it made our relationship unbelievably strong.”
Stuart was the sole survivor of the 1997 Thredbo landslide disaster, which killed his first wife, Sally, and 17 of their friends and neighbours.
Our thoughts are with Stuart and his family.
