A woman has been found in the US suffering from amnesia and a global search is on to find her identity.
The woman, who thinks her name is Sam, was found in Southern California in February and has an accent that doctors and nurses believe to be Australian.
When she was found, Sam didn’t know where or who she was, but recalled memories of Perth and swimming at Cottesloe Beach.
“All of my initial dreams had to do with a lap pool swimming in a salt water pool in Perth, then Icebergs in New South Wales and in Cairns in Queensland and Byron Bay,” Sam said in a post on the Facebook page that was set up to help find out her identity.
Reports say that Sam was very unwell when she was found and spent days in ICU. Since, she has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer which is believed to have caused the amnesia.
Sam is approximately 50 years old, has blonde highlighted hair, brown eyes, a chipped front tooth suspected from a fall, is right handed, near sighted, with a small vaccination scar on her right arm.
She has no recollection of any of her family or friends.
