Wardrobe Game-Changers: The Maxi Dress & Linen Pants You’ll Wear on Repeat This Autumn

After a hot summer where I’ve pretty much lived in denim shorts and tank tops, the weather these last few weeks has taken a turn for the worst, (looking at you ex-tropical Cyclone Alfred!) and it’s time to pack the summer gear away and opt for clothing with a little more coverage! So, I was delighted when my favourite boho fashion store Salty Crush invited me to choose two pieces from their collection to review.

Cue squeals of delight!

After much deliberation (how are you supposed to choose when everything is so gorgeous?), I settled on the Leslie linen black pants, (comfortably stylish and versatile) and the Madeline Maxi dress in cream (for that effortlessly glam vibe!) I’m certainly no kind of fashionista, but I have to say, I’m thrilled my choices. Not only are they gorgeous and so comfortable to wear, but they’re great quality and affordable too. Tick, tick, tick, tick! Pretty much everything I look for when shopping for clothes.

Why You Need These Linen Pants in Your Life

If you don’t already own a pair of linen pants, or, as I like to call them, “I can breathe after pigging out on curry pants,” you are seriously missing out! (Sorry, but when hubby takes me out to our local Indian, I’m having the lot – the rice, the naan, and the butter chicken – and skinny jeans just aren’t gonna cut it!

Even if you don’t like to gorge once a month at your favourite pub or restaurant, linen pants are must-have item in your wardrobe for several reasons:

Feel Like Pyjamas, Look Like a Vibe – The elastic waist means all-day comfort, while the sleek wide leg keeps things effortlessly polished.
They Go with Everything – Sandals? Cute. Sneakers? Chic. Ankle boots? Absolutely! Although shorter women like me (5ft 4inch) might need to take them up a little before wearing them with flats!

Transeasonal– Linen is breathable, which means if the sun does decide to put its hat on and come out to play, you won’t be left a hot, sweaty mess!
Dress Up or Dress Down– Pair them with a tank top to run errands or do the school run, or a flowy cami for brunch (like the Jaase Elsie Cami I’m currently crushing hard on), or something sleek and sexy for date night.

JAASE – Elsie Cami: Lace Detailed V-Neck Cami with Frill Splicing in Melody Print

Pockets –No need to explain, this one! Life’s too short to be getting around in pocketless pants!

Basically, if you don’t own a pair of easy, breezy linen pants, this is your sign to add a pair of these Leslie Linen pants to cart stat. You’ll never look back!

5 Reasons Why I Love the Madeline Maxi Dress and Think You Will Too

Does it really need explaining? It’s so pretty!

This cream-coloured Madeline Maxi dress (which is also available in mint and black) is divine. Here’s why I love it, and you need it:

It’s Timelessly Gorgeous – The delicate flutter sleeves, lace trim, and embroidered floral details give this dress an effortlessly romantic feel that never goes out of style.

Just look at that detail!

It’s Flattering on Everyone – The A-line silhouette + elasticated waist means it hugs in all the right places while still being comfortable (even on bloated days).

It’s Versatile –Add some heels for date night or go barefoot with braids on the beach!

Look Instantly ‘Put Together’ Without Even Trying– You know those days when you want to look effortlessly stunning but don’t have the energy? This dress does the work for you.

It’s a Confidence Booster – There’s just something about a flowy, boho-chic dress that makes you feel a wee bit glam without even having to try.
