Everyone talks about SEO!
What is it and why is it so important?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process that allows a website or web page to be ‘seen’ by internet search engines thereby improving ranking in search engine results.

This is achieved via natural (organic) visibility where the listings on search engine results pages appear because of their relevance to the search term presented as opposed to search engine marketing which is paid for. SEO considers how search engines work and what people most often search for.SEO optimization can occur when a website’s content and associated coding increase its relevance to specific keywords.

Content that includes frequently searched key words and phrases will tend to attract more traffic. Updating content often will keep search engines reviewing your site. It is important that key words are included in your title tag and in the meta description of your site.

SEO is imperative if your website or web pages are to be found when people search the internet. Even with SEO there may still be a period of time before your website gains a place high in the list of searched sites because the search engines determine how often your website is visited and how relevant the content is to search words or phrases.

However, SEO should not be relied on solely to drive visitors to your site. Your marketing strategy may also include paid advertising on search engines and other sites and cross linking from other websites.

This approach will also increase your exposure to SEO.
