Kaitlynn Carter Opens Up About Her Relationship With Miley Cyrus!
Kaitlynn Carter, the woman photographed kissing Miley Cyrus earlier this year, has opened up for the first time about the love affair that took her by surprise.
The reality TV star appeared on TV show The Hills- New Beginnings along with her then partner Brody Jenner. The couple were dogged by constant rumours about their relationship with many claiming it was an open one which often included threesomes.
Neither Jenner or Carter have confirmed or disputed the claim but the two did go on to break up not long after the series ended.
It was following Carter’s break up with Jenner and Cyrus’ split with Liam Hemsworth that the two friends decided to embark on an European vacation to help them get over their respective heartbreaks.
During the vacay, Carter says she found herself drawn romantically to Cyrus whom she’d been friends with for a very long time. Speaking to Elle magazine, Carter says she never imagined loving a woman until the girls’ trip suddenly turned into something much more intense.
“This past July, I went on vacation with a female friend; the next thing I knew, I was in love with her,” she said. “It wasn’t quite that simple, of course. But it also wasn’t very complicated, either.”
Carter, 31, and Cyrus, 26, hooked up in Italy just hours before the Wrecking Ball singer announced her separation from husband Liam Hemsworth and Jenner ended her own.
“Until that trip, it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her,” Carter writes. “But after reflecting on my romantic history, I realised that I’ve never really had a ‘type.’”
The reality TV star say that her and Hemsworth had started to drift apart and ultimately, they decided to end their marriage.
“Shortly thereafter, as my friend and I spent that August travelling through Europe together and trying to move past our respective breakups, my first and only romance with a woman was born,” she wrote.
She added: “Reflecting back on our three-year friendship, I realised I’d always been drawn to her in a way I wasn’t with other friends, but until that trip it had never crossed my mind to think of her in a romantic sense.”
The essay concluded with Carter saying she didn’t want to put any labels on herself and said she will always be grateful to Cyrus.
”While it was short-lived, I’ll remain eternally grateful to my most recent relationship for opening my eyes to this unexplored part of myself, and for inspiring a new level of self-discovery and wonder at all the possibilities of life,” she wrote. “I’ve been forced to get to know myself in a far deeper way than ever before, and not just in terms of my sexual preferences. I’ve also been forced to reckon with who I am as a person.”
Cyrus meanwhile, moved on from Carter with Aussie boyfriend Cody Simpson, 22. The duo were first linked in late 2014, but at the time they both insisted they were “just mates”.
