Your Kids Can Now ‘Wear Their Imaginations’

If you child is a fashionista and loves to put their own outfits together, they will LOVE this new fashion concept.

Picture This” is a company that is giving kids the opportunity to design their own clothes.

The business was started by mum and entrepreneur Jaimee Newberry, inspired by a dress made for her daughter Zia, using her daughter’s artwork. When Zia wore her dress she told people she was ‘wearing her imagination’.

Zia’s friends and classmates made requests to design their own clothes so they too could wear their imagination and the business was born.

“Due to the positive response and requests from Zia’s friends and classmates to also ‘wear their imagination,’ friends Ken, Igi, Stephan and I chatted about how to turn this concept into something where kids everywhere could have fun with hands-on drawing and coloring, and then see their imaginative artwork come to life in wearable fashion form,” Newberry explained.

The process is easy. Parents choose a dress size and print out the templates available on the ‘Picture This’ website. Once their kids have coloured and drawn on the template, the parents can upload the picture onto the website and place their order. The finished dress arrives within a few weeks.

“Picture This” also offer templates for dolls dresses. At this stage the service currently only offers dresses but other clothing options will be explored and expanded upon.

Newberry encourages parents to try the service and share their children in their designed dress with the hashtag #PictureThis.

It’s definitely one way for your child to wear an outfit to stand out from the crowd. 
