Mums Lounge (mumslounge.com.au) is run by Mum Media Group Pty Ltd (ABN 29 699 309 843), called “we”, “us” or “our” in this policy. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access it or ask us to stop using it. We aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Depending on how you use Mums Lounge, we may collect:

• Contact details, such as your name and email address
• Information you choose to give us, such as your postcode, your stage of parenting, survey answers, reviews, comments or stories you submit
• Competition and giveaway entries, including the details you enter on the entry form
• Messages you send us, by email, social media or our contact forms
• Website and device information, such as the pages you visit, how you got to our site, your browser and device type, IP address and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools
• Social media interactions with our Facebook, Instagram and other pages

Mums Lounge is written for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

How we collect it

• Directly from you, when you subscribe to our newsletter, enter a competition, fill in a form, comment or contact us
• Automatically, through cookies, pixels and analytics tools when you use our website or open our emails
• From third parties, such as the platform we use to run a competition, or a social media platform when you interact with our pages

How we use it

• Send you our newsletter, updates and offers
• Run competitions and giveaways, and contact winners
• Tell you about products, services and offers from our related business, EMLI Health, and from brands we partner with
• Show you relevant ads on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Google, and measure how our ads perform
• Understand how people use our site so we can improve it
• Respond to your questions and requests
• Meet our legal obligations

Marketing and how to opt out

If you subscribe or enter a competition that includes a marketing opt-in, we may send you emails about Mums Lounge, EMLI Health and our brand partners. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also contact us at any time to stop marketing messages.

When we promote a brand partner’s offer, we send it to you ourselves. We don’t hand your details to that brand unless you agree, for example by entering a competition whose terms say the prize supplier will contact the winner.

Our related business

Mum Media Group also operates EMLI Health (emlihealth.com.au), a pregnancy and postpartum exercise and education platform. We may use your details to tell you about EMLI Health programs and offers. You can opt out of these at any time.

Advertising, cookies and pixels

We use cookies and similar tools, including Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, to understand how people use our site and to show and measure our ads.

We may also upload a securely hashed (encrypted) version of your email address to advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google. We do this to show you relevant ads, to avoid showing you ads you don’t need, and to reach people with similar interests. These platforms match the hashed details to their own users. They don’t give us information about you personally.

You can control this by:

• Changing your browser’s cookie settings
• Adjusting your ad preferences in your Facebook, Instagram or Google account
• Contacting us and asking to be left out of our advertising audiences

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Service providers who help us run Mums Lounge, such as our email and customer platform (HighLevel), website hosting, competition platforms (such as Gleam), analytics tools and advertising platforms
• Our related business, EMLI Health
• Brand partners, only with your agreement, such as a prize supplier contacting a competition winner
• Others where the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of us or others

We ask our service providers to keep your information secure and only use it to provide their services to us.

Information stored overseas

Some of the providers we use store information outside Australia, including in the United States. These include HighLevel, Meta, Google and Gleam. We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate security and privacy practices.

Competitions and giveaways

Each competition or giveaway has its own terms and conditions, which explain how entries are handled. Where we announce a winner, we will only publish their first name unless they agree otherwise.

How we protect and keep your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
