Anna Fights Back Over Reports of her Husband Choosing the Game Over the Birth of Their son

Anna Jovanovic has fought back at reports made about her husband, James Roberts, for being selfish in choosing to play football when she started laboring with their first child.

A backlash of comments were branded against James and his team, the Broncos, after he allegedly ‘decided’ to put his team first and play against the Sydney Rabbitohs last Friday night. The Broncos praised the young rugby league player for choosing to leave his wife so he could play in Friday’s match in a press release to announce the new arrival.

James’s wife, Anna went into early labour a few hours before kick-off, but didn’t give birth until early Sunday morning, by which time, James was back by his wife’s side and was able to help deliver their son, Kirk Roberts.

Anna shared an adorable photo of James bottle feeding their son and put out a statement, posted by the Today Show, that she was upset people were talking about her husband in a negative way and that it was her suggestion for James to play in Friday night’s game.

The comments and backlash reports around James raise questions on why we think it’s ok to trash talk another woman’s husband when not understanding the full details of what was happening in the delivery room.

We wish to congratulate Anna and James on the safe arrival of Kirk.

What do you think? Are we too quick to judge husbands when they choose to abide by their commitments when family circumstances call?
