Kelly Clarkson Criticised For Giving Her Daughter Nutella!
Pop star Kelly Clarkson found herself in the firing line from key board warriors recently after posting a video of her 2 year old daughter River Rose enjoying some Nutella on toast!
“Stop eating Nutella,” one commenter said. “It’s been confirmed to give cancer.”
“Nutella is hella bad for you,” another person said. “Nutella is PACKED with sugars. Don’t make your kids blow up,” said one follower.
One commentator even felt the need to compare giving your kid Nutella to child abuse.
“Giving food like this to a child is child abuse,” she wrote.
Now while we don’t claim to know Kelly Clarkson personally we’re pretty sure she knows how to parent her children. And yes, Nutella is full of sugars and palm oil and all that yucky stuff but it also tastes delicious and is considered okay as a ‘sometimes’ food. No-one is suggesting you feed your child Nutella sandwiches 3 times a day but an occasional treat won’t do them any harm.
Jaclyn London, R.D., Nutrition Director at the Good Housekeeping Institute, says “enjoying indulgent foods together with family can be a part of a healthy diet and long-term relationship with food. I love that Kelly shared this very fun and sweet moment.”
Kelly didn’t let the negative comments get her down. Just a few days later she posted these images of son Remington celebrating his first birthday – complete with a sweet treat!
What do you think? Was Kelly Clarkson unfairly targeted by social media trolls or did they have a point?
