Mum Says She May Lose Followers after Sharing List of Rules for Her Kids
We all have our own set of rules when it comes to our kids but one mum says after sharing her controversial list she will probably lose a whole stack of followers. What do you think? Are her rules harsh or fair?
Mum of three boys, Fawna, shared the video to TikTok where she spoke of her parenting rules that most people probably would not agree with.
In the now-viral TikTok Fawna says “I might lose some followers and probably get some hate but you know, it is what it is.”
Fawna goes on to outline the four rules she has for her kids that are non negotiable.
“In my house, at the age of 13, you’re allowed to cuss, as long as you use it in the proper context and you do not disrespect adults,” she says.
“You WILL say Ma’am, you WILL say Sir, you WILL be respectful.
When my kids were little, I would get their breakfast and everything ready in the morning and yes, they would be taken care of they, were f**king fine, happy and healthy… but none of them are allowed to bother me, touch me, nothing until I’ve had my first cup of coffee.”
She goes on to say that her kids absolutely follow her rules. no questions asked.
“At the age of 16, they’re required to get a job, a driver’s license and they have to start paying rent,” she says. In fact, she puts their rent money aside and says she will then give it to them when they’re ready to move out of home, so they have a “little nest egg” of their own.

The now viral video has been viewed more than 666,000 times on TikTok with over 2600 comments.
“The only thing I PERSONALLY don’t like about the rent thing is that as a parent,it’s our job to provide for them,” one person said. “We are supposed to save money for them.”
“LOVE that you set early morning boundaries,” added another. “That is such a good idea for your own mental health and space.”
While Fawna’s rules all make sense to us parents, it was the rent one that got the most attention. Many commenters loved the idea and said they’d love to do the same with their own kids.
“I like the rent idea,” wrote one person. “Makes them responsible with their $$.”
Another added, “I wish my parents did this.”
“I don’t believe anyone’s parents should charge their child rent,” stated another. “However, you’re talking about ‘rent’, not rent. I like that. I thought about doing this with my children as well.”
