Mum Shocked To Learn Reason Why Instagram Photo Of Her Child Was Removed!
A mother who recently posted what she thought was an innocent photo of her two year old daughter at the beach has been left outraged and disgusted by the comments that followed.
Queensland mum Jordan Jones shared the pic below of her daughter showing a happy two year old with a messy bun, no swimmers on and a tan line.
It wasn’t the lack of clothing that left some people outraged but rather the colour of the toddler’s skin. You see the key board warriors felt the need to attack the mum for letting her daughter get so dark in the first place.
So many commenters were outraged by the photo that it was removed from the social media site altogether.
“Have you heard of suncream? How about you start using it before your kid looks 40 at four,” one person posted. “Horrible mother.”
The mum of two defended her parenting while speaking to news.com.au saying she takes every measure to ensure her children are safe in the sun.
“She (the commentator) was screaming racism at me,” Mrs Jones said. “Before she even knew my background, she was commenting how Winter’s dark skin was disgusting.
“There were other people saying I was neglecting my child and opening her up to skin cancer. It’s very offensive.”
After the photo was taken down by Instagram, Jones posted a follow up pic on her page explaining how she would never endanger her childrens’s lives and that she makes sure they have sun screen on at all times.
“My child’s skin is beautiful, I take all necessary measures to ensure her skin is protected and I wake up every dam day striving to be the best mother possible,” she wrote.
“If you don’t like my posts or our skin colour offends you please just unfollow. I won’t post about last night’s events again because I don’t want to be putting negative energy into the world but please realise I am a real person behind this account, I’m not a robot. I have feelings and emotions and even though I have thick skin when it comes to trolls, degrading comments made about my children are not on.”
Jones is yet to receive a response from Instagram about why the image was removed but chances are it’s about the child’s nudity.
According to Instagram guidelines, they “may remove images that show nude or partially-nude children” as even when the “content is shared with good intentions, it could be used by others in unanticipated ways”.
