Overprotective Mother Wants Her Child to Switch Classes Because His Teacher Has Dyed Hair

Overprotective Mother Wants Her Child to Switch Classes Because His Teacher Has Dyed Hair

There are lots of reasons to consider your child switching classes at school. Maybe they have been placed in a room with their bully? Or perhaps there is history with the teacher and it would be best for everyone involved if they were moved to another group?

There are also plenty of ridiculous reasons to want to change classes, and this one is at the top of that list.

A mum has taken to social media looking for validation and support because she wants her son moved to a different class on account of the fact that his teacher has yellow hair.

I shit you not, dear reader.

The screenshot of the post on a Facebook mother’s group was shared on Reddit, where it was quickly mocked.

Even the post title beautifully captured the sheer lunacy of the mum in question: “My child has never seen someone with dyed hair and he won’t start now”

Others chimed in with their own hot takes.

“‘I truly feel like he will never pay attention to anything because of her hair colour.’ 😳 Imagine thinking that little of your 5yo son,” noted one person.

“Just wait til the teacher turns up in a dress that (shock) shows her ankles,” added another.

“Geez what happens when he sees someone with different colour skin? Yikes on bikes.” quipped a third.

Part of our job as parents is to educate and prepare our children to become confident, capable, well-mannered adults. And part of that role is to ensure that they are taught that everyone deserves kindness and respect. That everyone is different with individual personalities, distinct styles and diverse looks. We practise unusual hobbies, listen to obscure music, and cook awesome foods with spices and exotic flavours.

Some of us even dye our hair!

We can’t imagine how sheltered this child must be if yellow hair is considered a distraction.
