Pregnant Woman Comes Up With Complicated Spelling For Popular Game Of Thrones Themed Name!

Pregnant Woman Comes Up With Complicated Spelling For Popular Game Of Thrones Themed Name!

An expectant mum has been slammed online for butchering a perfectly normal way of spelling a Game of Thrones themed name. And you won’t believe how many letters it contains!

In a post on discussion forum Reddit, one mum-to-be thought she had come up with the perfect unique name for her unborn child. According to the expectant mother’s roommate, the woman is a massive Game of Thrones fan and wanted to honour the show by naming her child after a character.

That character is Arya,  a fierce young woman who turns into a warrior assassin in the show. The roommate pointed out that it was a lovely name but had become super popular in recent years for baby girls.

“It might be a little too common, not that it is a bad thing,” the roommate told the mum-to-be, according to the Reddit post.

Thinking about it overnight, the pregnant woman then returned to her friend the next day saying she had come up with the perfect solution. She had found a way around the issue of “Arya” being such a common name.

“She said she wanted to spell it as Aughreighyah. I did a double take reading that word too, but apparently people are supposed to read it as Augh-reigh-ya or Arya,” the roommate wrote.

“She asked me how I felt about it and I told her that, frankly, Aughreighyah looks ridiculously stupid and she should just go with Arya.”

The pregnant woman didn’t take the news vey well and said she loved it and was sticking to the unique spelling. That’s when the roommate pointed out that “having a common name is better than having a confusing name.”

Most of the comments echoed the roommate’s sentiments saying it was just cruel to bestow such a complicated name on a child. One person joked: “You should not give your kid a name that looks like it could be a Welsh town.”

“Can you imagine how hard it would be for that kid to learn how to spell her own name? I couldn’t spell my five-letter name until I was like six!” another said.

And if you thought that spelling was crazy – check put some other doozies we’ve seen over the years. Can you guess what the names are?
