This Hilarious Post Shows That a Lot of Men Do Not Have Any Idea What a Speculum Is
Every woman knows exactly what a speculum is. That cold, hard steely tool used to perform many gynaecological tasks from pap smears to cervix checks and anything that requires someone to peer at the depths of your noonie for whatever reason. It’s an implement that most definitely does not spark joy in any woman, ever.
Unless, of course, that joy comes from a viral Facebook post suggesting that women ask their partners what this bright shiny object is used for, and to respond with their utterly clueless answers!
Naturally, hilarity ensued:
In case you need a refresher or want to explain this tool to your partner, a vaginal speculum is a device, usually made of metal but sometimes made of clear plastic, which your gynecologist uses to open your vaginal walls. This use of the vaginal speculum allows your gynecologist a visual inspection of your vagina and cervix, as well as a way to collect the cervical cells necessary for a Pap smear test.
So there you go. Not an apple peeler, garlic press or eyelash curler!
Does your partner know what this is or used for? Let us know in the comments!
