Toy Tester Top Picks for 2022: VTech Kidizoom Print Cam Review

With so many awesome toys on the shelves this Christmas to choose from, it can be a little overwhelming knowing which toys to choose for your loved ones. So, we decided to enlist the help of the Mums lounge toy testers, to tell us more about the toys that are on top of their must-have list and why.

11 year old Chloe was keen to trial the VTech Kidizoom Print Cam. Suitable for children aged 5 years and over, the Kidizoom Print Cam allows kids to take a photo and print it instantly. The flip-up lens allows for easy selfies too, because who doesn’t love a selfie? It ‘s jam-packed with fun features like special photo effects, stamps and borders, three games, panoramic prints and comic strip maker. Children can also turn their photo’s into line drawings to colour or use the print shop to print games, design and print their own cards, pretend money, accessories and more. It also functions as a normal digital camera; they can take photos and videos and transfer by USB, and the memory is expandable by microSD card (not included).

Here’s what our Toy Tester Chloe had to say:

I was excited to try out the Kidizoom Print Cam because I’ve always wanted a camera and the printing feature makes it even better since I don’t have a printer at home!

Setting up the camera was very easy I had no help at all and the instructions were very straight forward. There were only a couple of steps and the instructions explained them very well.

I liked the printing button the most of all because if I wanted to take a picture of my friends and I if my friends wanted one then I just printed multiple so all of my friends got a picture.

Taking selfies with the camera was very easy and straight forward the instructions tell you how to do that as well. On my camera I use the selfie feature the most of all the other features excluding the printing feature.

I guess my favourite function was the photo effects because some of the effects made me laugh because of how weird it made my face look. The reason that I chose the photo effects over the video effects was because I didn’t explore the video effects that much.

The only thing I printed for colouring was the bracelet with the heart and half hearts connected together for my little sister because I love her so much and because she asked for one and she chose that one.

I had a lot of fun playing the games and I think my favourite game was the Crystal Blast game which I liked because it reminded me of a game called Candy Crush which is a game I also like.

My mum liked that it helped me practice my camera work and work on my creativity at the same time.

I would recommend this camera as a fun toy to my friends and I think they would love it and it would also be a great Christmas gift!
