It’s no secret around here that the Mums Lounge team are huge fans of Shanelle Franklin and Tamara Linke’s podcast ‘The Beautiful Nightmare.’ So we are thrilled, (but not surprised) to share the news that the hilarious duo took home the title of ‘Best Comedy Podcast’ at last nights 2024 Australian Podcast Awards in Sydney.

After back-to-back nominations, Shanelle Franklin and Tamara Linke secured the top spot and have taken out the win for South Australia against some big players nation-wide, including Mamamia’s Cancelled and Australian icon Kate Langbroek and Nath Valvo with their podcast The Buck Up.

An elite judging panel awarded the duo the highest comedy award in the podcast industry in Australia.

“This is a feeling we never want to forget – we’ve thrown everything we have at this and now we have something shiny to show for it.”

They have grown their international fan base to now be considered in the top 20% of podcasts in the world. Their podcast inspired live comedy shows, where they had sell out seasons at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, going on to tour regionally for their deeply loyal fan base. They also hit the stage at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival earlier this year and received rave reviews.

“Shanelle hasn’t stopped crying and the celebrations have only just began for us,” said Tamara Linke.
