Mum Faces Backlash For Letting Nine Year Old Daughter Get Nose Pierced

A mum has received a barrage of abusive comments online after sharing a video of her nine year old daughter with a nose ring. Commenters called her a ‘bad mum’ for allowing the piercing at such a young age. What do you think?

Meagan Black from the US found herself in the firing line recently after sharing a TikTok video of her daughter Bella. The video featured her nine year old with a nose piercing, which people found ‘highly inappropriate.’

The video has been viewed more than 23.2 million times, with many comments such as: “Why she got a nose piercing at nine years old?”

“She looks seven and 15 at the same time because of the nose piercing,” one person said.

“I don’t know if that’s a kid, it sounds like it and looks like it but have a NOSE PIERCING??” another asked.

One noted: “She is way too young to have a nose piercing!”

“Hell no too young too young! You’re a bad parent,” one said.

Another added: “She’s nine. No jeweller would do that. Shame on you. She’s a child. She’s not mature or developed.”

There were a few people however who defended the mum’s decision to get her daughter’s nose pierced.

“Omg stop hating, they are amazing,” one said.

Another added: “Her nose ring is so cute! It suits her so well!!.”

While one said: “She is so pretty I don’t know what the haters are talking about.”

To the commenters who asked where the nose ring was done, the mum assured everyone it was down legitimately: “She went to a professional and I signed for her.”

She also said her daughter made the decision to get a nose ring because she “does not like earrings” as they’re “ugly”.

“About the nose ring thing, she’s nine years old ok, if she wants a f****ing nose ring, what’s the big deal with that?” she told her 44,000 followers.

“Like it’s not her tongue or her eyebrow, and I didn’t tattoo her face, she just wanted a simple nose ring,” she said. “Like what is the big deal?”
