Mum Shares Quick Hack For Making Famous Bluey Duck Cake

Mum Shares Quick Hack For Making Famous Bluey Duck Cake

Show me someone who doesn’t love a quick birthday cake hack! One mum has shared how she uses a simple Woolworth’s mud cake to recreate the famous duck cake from Bluey. It’s so simple, your kids could probably make it themselves!

Brisbane mum Lacey, says she came up with the hack after her three-year-old son Cash, wanted Bingo’s famous duck cake from an episode of Bluey.

“Cash had been requesting ‘a bingo’s duck cake’ ever since watching the Blue Duck Cake episode,” Lacey said on Kidspot. “We decided to create it for a bit of fun for my little Bluey fans for afternoon tea as we had everything we needed to create it. They were super excited to have their very own Bingo’s duck cake and Cash even said ‘it was his best day ever for real life.”

Lacey says it was the “easiest and quickest” cake she has ever baked. “It really was a slap together effort and was done in under 30 minutes,” she added.“It was super easy to do and great as it doesn’t need to be perfect for the effect we were going with. I’d say the cost in total was no more than $15.”

The cake turned out so well that Lacey shared a photo of the cake in the Woolies/Coles Mudcake Hacks Facebook group.

“So we decided to make it for afternoon tea today. We have now one happy little 3-year-old in the house…. he finally got his duck cake,” she captioned the photo.

Commenters loved the cake hack and were quick to let her know.

“Simply adorable made me smile so much,” one follower commented.

“Nailed it!!” said another.

“My son has just told me he wants the Bluey duck cake for his bday so this is perfect timing to see this and I’m glad it doesn’t look too hard to do,” chimed in another mum.

If the cake looks familiar to you then chances are you’re from the 80’s and remember the iconic duck cake from The Women’s Weekly’s Children’s Birthday Cake book.

“Yes I recognised it straight up!” one person said.

“Women weekly cake still rockin’ on,” another added.

“Time to bust out your duck cake skills again I still remember the one you made me,” one said.

What do you think? Have you tried the Bluey Duck cake yet?
