Peg and Nick Theobald, parents of eight-year-old, Adler and 10-year-old Everson were expecting their third child and decided to involve the whole family in their gender reveal celebration. The heart stopping moment was captured on video and has since gone viral with 17.4 million views.

During the reveal, the family members all held white cupcakes, intending to take a bite and reveal the colored icing inside. As they simultaneously took a bite, everything seemed to be going as expected until young Adler began to choke on the cake. The rest of the family, unaware of his distress, continued to celebrate, while Adler struggled to breathe.

Peg became increasingly upset as she noticed her son’s choking. She rushed to help him and asked if he was alright. Eventually, Adler managed to cough up the cake with Nick’s assistance, and the video ended.
