Young Girl’s Heartbreaking Letter To Santa Leaves Mum In Tears

Young Girl’s Heartbreaking Letter To Santa Leaves Mum In Tears

A mum says she wasn’t planning on sharing her daughter’s heartbreaking letter but decided it was something “we should all be talking about.”

Suzy Boliver was heartbroken when she first saw her eight-year-old daughter’s Christmas list. Amongst the normal kid items on the list were things such as Squishmallows, an Apple Pencil and an iPhone but down the bottom was a request for Santa for “more friends” and “less bullying to me”.

Understandably, mum Suzy was bought to tears when she saw this and initially wasn’t going to share it. But upon reflection, she decided that bullying was something that needed discussing. Especially since chances are so many more children are in the same boat as her beautiful daughter. When Suzy shared the video on TikTok it quickly amassed over 3.8 million views and 201,300 likes.

“I wasn’t going to post this, but you know what … this is being 8 yrs old in 2022 and maybe we should be talking about it,” she wrote in the caption. Suzy goes on to say her “heart sank” and people in the comments could totally relate.

Commenters showed their support for the heartbroken mum with comments like:

“I teach elementary school, this breaks my heart.”

“We need to do something about bullying. We are taking way too long.”

“Makes my heart ache.”

“Makes me not want to even send my kids to public school. So sad.”

“This made me cry. My daughter is 8. This would break me.”

“This is heart breaking. I feel you. Nothing harder than watching your kids walk through that stuff.”

While many parents offered some advice for Suzy as well as sharing their own stories:

“I’m a teacher and if she is writing about it ask the teacher but also fully move her away from bullies no matter what. Too many lost little lives.”

“My 9yo wrote this year ‘To be pretty,’ I have no words for this sadness.”

“My 7-year-old brother wrote that he wanted his girlfriend back.”

“You should set up a PO Box so we can send her postcards from friends around the country.”

“Go directly to the school. Ask questions. Get to the bottom of this. Be that mama bear.”
