Beautiful Baths for Busy Mums

Relaxing Bath

Relaxing Bath

How often do you actually find time to do something just for you?

Motherhood is the ultimate juggling game and we have so much we need to do, so many people to keep happy and usually the last person on your list to get special treatment, is you!

It is SO important to make time to treat yourself to a little pampering and relaxation. You will be a much happier mum for it, and the rest of your family will benefit.

All you need to do is find 30 minutes, once a week, to make time to have a beautiful relaxing bath. Call in help from your partner, family or the army if necessary, to give you half an hour to enjoy a soak with no distractions. Enjoy ever minute without going over your to-do list, or meal planning or worrying about the washing pile. That can all wait.

You will need a bath, a lovely clean fluffy towel, a candle or two, even some soothing music can help you block out the world and deeply relax.

Here are some lovely bath recipes that treat your skin with nourishing kindness, with many of the ingredients probably sitting in your pantry right now. Pick your favourite, book a date with your bath and get soaking.

CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE BATH

1 cup of soy milk
100gm dark chocolate, finely grated
1/2 cup unscented or vanilla scented bubble bath

Gently heat the milk in a saucepan or in the microwave. Add the grated chocolate and whisk until combined. Add the bubble bath and just combine. Pour into the bath just before you are ready to get in.

COCONUT COCKTAIL BATH

1 can of coconut milk
4 tablespoons of bicarbonate soda
1 cup of pineapple juice

Combine all of the above ingredients in a bowl and add to the bath just before getting in.

CITRUS SPLASH DETOX BATH

1 cup of sea salt
1 cup of bicarbonate soda
1 lemon juiced (discard flesh)

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and add to the bath just before you get in.

Always start your bath as hot as you can comfortably tolerate it. Add more water if it cools down to quickly. If you really want your skin to glow, why not exfoliate from top to toe upon entering the bath. After you have finished, dry yourself thoroughly and apply a body lotion.

Your skin will be super smooth, you will feel relaxed and will be one happy mummy.

Enjoy.
