Dyson Launches An Almost Silent Hairdryer
A silent hair dryer could literally revolutionise the beauty industry and bring harmony into many households. Hands up if you’ve found yourself having to sleep with wet hair some nights because your hairdryer makes just as much noise as a jet taking off- and the last thing you want to do is wake the kids because it’s taken you an hour to get them to bed!
Worry no more! James Dyson, the man that revolutionised the vacuum cleaner, created a hand-dryer that dries your hands in record speed and designed a fan that was safe and functional now brings us the the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer.
Four years in the making and costing $96 million the Dyson hairdryer truly is a masterpiece. “At Dyson, we develop products to solve problems. It isn’t about making a quick buck,” said Dyson.
The Dyson Supersonic uses the same airflow technology developed to create Dyson’s previous products, and will come with a rubber mat because, due to the high speed of the air generated, it could fly off the table when switched on.
The hairdryer doesn’t contain a grill like traditional dryers which can become clogged with dust and increase the temperature of air produced which in turn damages the hair. This new design cannot exceed 150 degrees.
But most importantly- it is nearly SILENT. No more yelling your personal stories to the hairdresser only to have them switch it off mid sentence! The sound of normal speaking voices will be able to be heard over the miniaturised motor and the airflow.
The supersonic hairdryer is currently available in pink and white and will retail at around $570. It should be hitting our shores in the next few months. Stay tuned.
