The New Exercise Trends To Try Out This Summer
Some great news for everyone who has grown weary of their current exercise routine- whether it’s yoga, pilates or just lifting the wine glass to your mouth. If you’re in the market for something that will help you burn maximum calories then check out these new fitness trends sweeping across the fitness world.
First up is AquaSpin which claims to have you burning 2 Big Macs in just one hour. It’s basically a spin class in water where the bikes are fixed into the pool. A great workout guaranteed to see you lose 800 calories per session if done properly.
Aqua spin uses the benefits of water buoyancy and resistance to make the exercise motions and sequences gentle yet vigorous. Each session is tailored to provide a full body workout, using various fitness techniques in order to get the most out of each minute.
SandTrek is the next fitness fad. This machine, which is basically a sandy treadmill, allows the gym go-er to experience the feeling of walking on the sand. Your feet touch the sand and sink into it giving you the exact experience of running or walking on the beach. Alternatively you could just…run or walk on the beach.
The SandTrek is still in the Prototype stage and is said to cost up to $25,000 to make.
Next up is Kangoo Power– which claims to have you jumping for joy. You need a pair of specially designed bouncing shoes will will set you back around $300. Kangoo Power challenges the whole body by building muscular strength and cardio-respiratory endurance simultaneously.
“The classes go for an hour, which are high-intensity workouts. Our classes start with beginners, but there are also sessions for those more advanced. You can borrow shoes if you need, or buy them if you like,” said Magda Xantopol, Kangoo Jumps instructor at Mix-Fit.
“Kangoo Jumps is good for cardiovascular fitness, increasing oxygen flow and good for balance and bone density. In one hour you can burn around 500 calories — and entertaining,” she said.
If you’re interested in trying out any of the mentioned fitness activities they will be on display at the Fitness & Health Expo, which kicks off in Sydney on October 17 and 18.
