Sticky Bourbon Chicken Drumsticks Recipe
This delicious sticky bourbon marinade for chicken drumsticks is the very best way to make a cheap meat option taste amazing.
You can start the marinade process ahead of time – the night or morning before would be perfect! If you don’t have that much time, a couple of hours would be just fine.
Serve with oven fries and salad for a cheap and easy meal that’s just a little bit more special than usual.

Ingredients:
2kg chicken drumsticks (2 to 3 per person)
½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup oil
¼ cup vinegar
¼ cup bourbon
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ a large onion, diced
Oven fries and salad, to serve
Method:
1. At least a few hours before dinnertime, combine the soy sauce, oil, vinegar, bourbon, brown sugar, ginger, garlic and diced onion in a bowl. Whisk until combined.
2. Place the chicken in a baking dish and pour the sauce over the chicken. Toss to coat each piece with sauce. Cover and marinate in the fridge for as long as you can or overnight.
3. When you arre ready to cook, preheat your oven to 180°C.
4. Uncover the chicken and bake for 45 minutes. Turn each piece every now and then to make sure they bake in the sauce on both sides.
5. When your chicken is done, place the chicken under the grill for an additional 5-10 minutes or until browned nicely (Watch your chicken carefully to make sure it doesn’t burn)
6. Remove chicken from the oven and serve immediately brushed with pan juices.
