Super Easy Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon Recipe
Super Easy Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon Recipe
So I was all out of ideas for what to cook for dinner and I was going down the “eggs on toast” path when I asked my youngest daughter what I should make. She announced that she would like her favourite macaroni cheese because then she’d finish it quickly so she’d get the first bath of the evening. With 3 older siblings you have to have your priorities in order, and clearly Miss 5’s priorities are right on the money.
This simple mac and cheese recipe is borderline common knowledge. Fry bacon, boil pasta, make white sauce, dump cheese in it, mix it together.
But sometimes you just need to be told, you know? 🙂
Serves: 4
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes

1 heaped tablespoon of plain flour
1¾ cups milk
2 cups grated tasty cheese

1. Cook pasta as per packet directions
2. Pan fry the bacon until cooked and slightly crispy, set aside
3. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan and add the flour, whisking to combine over medium heat.
4. Slowly add the milk a little at a time while continuing to whisk. Keep stirring as the sauce thickens.
