Dr. Phil Accused Of False Imprisonment By Former Employee
Dr. Phil has found himself on the other side of the couch as he faces a legal battle this week. A former producer for the Dr.Phil show claims that he locked her and 300 other employees in a room. Leah Rothman who worked as a segment producer on the show for 12 years is currently suing the doc for false imprisonment and emotional distress.
The lawsuit states that Dr. Phil called all his employees into a room to find out who had leaked information about the show to the press. Over 300 people that worked on the show were put told to come into a room that was then locked behind them. They were told to turn off their mobile phones and the doors were guarded by Dr. Phil’s security guards.
It’s alleged that he then proceeded to yell and berate the staff members saying
“If you f**k with me, I’ll f**k with you!”
Rothman also says she “saw cue cards in Dr. Phil’s hands” and that he “took joy in scaring his employees”,
She also claims that Dr. Phil already knew the source of the leak before the meeting, but did it to purely scare the other employees into not leaking information in the future.
We are still waiting for Dr. Phil to comment on the lawsuit.
