ENORMOUS Spider Freaks Out People All Over The Internet
Okay guys, if you’re not a fan of spiders, you might want to look away now. Or maybe you want to share this with your arachnophobic mates? That might be fun too.
An image of a massive huntsman spider has surfaced and is taking Facebook by storm. Her name is Charlotte, and she was moved out of harm’s way by a brave animal rescuer using a broom. That’s right, Charlotte is sitting on a broom head. The big ones you buy at the hardware shop, not the little kind that come with a dustpan. A full sized one. Charlotte is pretty big.
People are genuinely freaking out about poor Charlotte, who is just going about her day eating mosquitoes and other insects.
‘Why In HOLY HELL would you touch this horrible fucking demon spawn!?!’ wrote one commenter.
‘100% approve of and respect what you’re doing here, but please, for the love of God keep that thing and all of its family and friends OVER THERE and the heck away from me,’ wrote another.
The photos of the lovely Charlotte were taken in October last year, which means that Charlotte could be even bigger by now. And she certainly would have had hundreds of babies since.
She’s pretty harmless and won’t cause anybody any serious injury, and she’s certainly not dangerous to humans.
Unless you’re the sort of person to react to a huntsman appearing suddenly in your car by driving into a lake, that is.
On Tuesday a man crashed his car into Lake Cathie in NSW after a huntsman fell on his lap, giving him an awful fright.
The driver of this white Prado had done a spot of spring cleaning and was on his way to the tip when a huntsman spider playfully leapt onto his lap, causing him to accelerate through a bend and into the lake where he escaped certain death through a partially opened window. There is no word on the fate of the spider.
Charlotte isn’t scary, you guys. She’s lovely. Just leave her alone in the corner of your ceiling and she’ll be your friend. Huntsman spiders don’t make messy webs, they actively stalk and run-down their prey with stealth and speed. So they are entertaining too!
Just don’t go and pat or cuddle a huntsman though, because they will bite you if provoked. And while they won’t kill you, it will hurt a lot.
Wait, did you just feel something just touch your leg?
