Fed Up Mum Says”Stop Giving My Child Junk!”

Fed Up Mum Says”Stop Giving My Child Junk!”

A mum says she’s fed up with people giving her kids junk gifts with no thought what so ever. “I’ve had enough at this point. If it’s not thoughtful, my baby is not in need of it.” Do you agree?

Usually when you receive a gift it’s nice to be polite and say thank you- no matter what the present is. This mum disagrees. She’s sick of the junk people give her kids simply because they’re too lazy to put some thought into the gift. The mum who goes by the name ‘monthofsunday’ on TikTok has shared a video requesting people stop giving her child ‘junk’ toys. It’s been viewed 99,600 times so far and counting!

“Stop buying my child junk. I know I’m going to sound ungrateful, but right now, I don’t care, I’ve had enough – I’ve actually had enough,” the mum says on her TikTok video.

@monthofsunday I’ve had enough at this point. if it’s not thoughtful my baby is not in need of it. Because it’s the thought that counts right!#fyp #NatWestWhatYouWaitingFor #viral ♬ original sound – Monthofsunday

“I’ve had enough at this point. If it’s not thoughtful, my baby is not in need of it. Because it’s the thought that counts, right?”

When people ask her what to buy her daughter she tells them exactly what she needs. She says that any other gift is just junk. And while she understands that gift buying is always going to be a thing she believes those gifts should always be thoughtful ones.

“My thing is, I don’t like unthoughtful gifts,” she continues. “I’m not being ungrateful. Don’t buy my child junk that you don’t want in your house. Don’t give my child stuff that you’ve been given as a birthday present for your little one and then you think you can give it to my baby. You don’t have to be passing down presents to my child, buying my child junk, I’m not on it, babes. I’m sorry if it sounds ungrateful… I’m not ungrateful. I’m happy for thoughtful things that people buy my kids, I’m not happy for junk that people are just trying to pass on because they don’t want it.”

Commenters on TikTok agreed with the mum and said that it shouldn’t be just for kids either. People should be more mindful when purchasing gifts for adults also.

“Same for adults,” said one commenter. “I put so much thought into presents, things they end up loving and using for years and they get me bath bombs – I don’t have a bath.”

“Real talk! My son’s aunt bought him a tablet for Christmas despite me saying no to her over six times,” said another.

“Or they pull out the toy instruments – i.e. drum kits – like you wanna have all that noise in your ears,” was another comment.

While one person simply said: “It’s the thought that counts.”

Do you agree? Is it?
