Married Couple Had ‘No Clue’ They Needed to Have Sex to Have a Baby
In surprising news, it has come to light that a couple in the UK needed to be told to have sex if they wanted to have a baby.
Somehow managing to go through their entire lives without ever questioning the purpose of their reproductive organs, the couple presented to a doctor with their infertility issues assuming that babies would magically appear once they were married.
Oh, the sheer naivety of these hapless fools.
Author Rachael Hearson has worked as a midwife, health visitor and nurse for more than 40 years. She is now sharing some of her bizarre encounters while visiting family homes in her new book Handle With Care: Confessions of an NHS Health Visitor. It is within its pages that she details the moment she had to explain to the couple that they needed to have sex in order to make a baby.
“They had been married for some years but children ‘hadn’t come along.’” Ms Hearson expressed.“The GP deduced they didn’t know how to make babies, and it was my job to ensure they did!”
“They genuinely thought babies arrived as a result of simply ‘being married’ and had no clue. Teaching someone about sex is quite a responsibility. But within a couple of visits, the pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other.”
It is genuinely despairing to think that two grown adults had no idea about their own biology. Two sets of parents failed to teach them what they needed to know about their own bodies. Neither of them was taught basic human reproductive health in school.
Utterly bizarre, but it seemed as though they were quick learners just the same. Hopefully, the couple has created a wonderful family by now and are teaching their children where they came from and not just vaguely referring to storks and cabbage patches.
