Mum Is Fed Up With Husband Who Spends Hours In The Toilet!

Mum Is Fed Up With Husband Who Spends Hours In The Toilet!

If you live in a house with only one bathroom then you should be able to relate to this story. We’re pretty sure there have been times when you’ve run to the toilet only to find it occupied by someone else. There is definitely something about knowing the bathroom is taken that somehow makes your need to pee even more desperate!

Not trying to stereotype here but usually it’s the males in the household who tend to hog the bathroom while the women and kids bang desperately on the door. I know that’s definitely the case in our household.

One woman has found herself in the exact same boat and has taken to REDDIT to ask for advice on how to handle her husband’s extra long toilet visits. She says that no matter how many times she tells him to hurry up he seems to be unbothered by her requests. Plus, there’s only one bathroom for the couple and their young son.

The mum even says she feels bad for making him hurry up. After all it is just a ‘normal bodily function!’

Reddit thread

Comments poured in with many questioning exactly WHAT the husband was doing in the toilet for two hours. Seriously.

“That sounds excessive and rude. Is he reading? Needs a quiet place? If it really takes him that long to s**t he needs to start taking fibre twice daily. Or see a doctor. Something is up!” one person wrote.

While another thought the reason was something completely different. “He probably playing on his phone or maybe he’s even relieving himself in a different way but either way he needs to realise there’s ONE bathroom,” the person commented.

“I don’t know about 100 percent, I think he’s running away from taking care of his child(ren), which is arguably way worse,”another offered.

Hmmmm, yes! That last comment sure sounds right. Maybe after a long day at work he just wants to sit down in peace without having to deal with his kid. Who knows? Definitely wouldn’t fly at my house, but hey, each to their own!

There were those however who accused the wife of nagging and said she should be a little more respectful and considerate of his bathroom needs.

“30-60 min to take a dump is not unreasonable,” one person wrote. “That’s how long it takes me every day. There’s no way to ‘hurry up’ unless you don’t care about your husband’s hygiene. Try getting him a bidet or something instead of trying to police his digestion and subsequent hygiene.”

“You sound neurotic,” said another. “Let the man have one hour to himself in the washroom. That leaves 23 for you and your kid. Also, it sounds like you’re jealous so when he comes out, tell him to watch the kid and then go have an hour bath. Problem solved.”

“Maybe your husband just takes a long time to poop,” someone else commented. “I know I find it harder to make a movement when I know people can hear it [….] Poop doesn’t always stink up the bathroom by the way. It depends on your diet and other factors. I’m sure if you were having menstruation issues you wouldn’t appreciate being rushed in the bathroom.”

Menstruation issues?! Yeah ok. We basically go in and change a tampon Jack. Who has time to sit and fluff around for an hour? What do you think? Why is this guy spending so much time on the loo and what should his wife do about it?
