Octomum’s Kids Are Now Teenagers and the Photo of Them Together Is Giving Us All the Feels!

Octomum’s Kids Are Now Teenagers and the Photo of Them Together Is Giving Us All the Feels!

Who can believe it’s been 13 years since Nadya Suleman gave birth to her octuplets and was quickly dubbed “Octomom” by the media. Now the kids are all grown up and starting their first day of eighth grade. Crazy!

The year was 2009 when Nadya’s octuplets were the only second complete set born in the US. To add to media circus, it was soon found out that Nadya was already mum to 6 children already, all conceived through IVF. Which meant the single mum had 14 children at home!!

At the time, Nadya received a lot of backlash when it was discovered she was getting government assistance to help raise her tribe. That’s when the mum decided to step out of the spotlight and focus on raising her children the best she could.

In previous interviews Suleman’s mother stated that a single sperm donor named David Solomon was used to produce the octuplets as well as her daughter’s previous six children. However he has not played any active role in their upbringing. But Suleman has never confirmed who the sperm donor is. “As far as I’m concerned, I’ll never disclose who he is,” she said in her video diary. “I’m sorry for all this mess, and I hope he isn’t scared it’ll come out because it won’t,” she assures him. Suleman says she chose him because she thought he would “make a good father,” although he is, apparently, not involved in their everyday life. She adds that he “was mad at the doctor who implanted all those embryos, “just like everyone else.”

Now 13 years later the mum has shared a gorgeous photo on Instagram of her octuplets on their first day of eighth grade with the caption: “First day of 8th grade. Be proud of yourselves kids for being kind, respectful, and helpful to all your fellow peers, teachers and staff. You are exceptional role models to the 6th and 7th graders. I love you. (Side note to critics: their older siblings did not want me to post a picture on their first day. I respect their choice, so should you).”

What a gorgeous bunch of kids!
