Schoolgirl’s Remarkably Fabulous Christmas Hairstyle Banned and Deemed Inappropriate for School

A schoolgirl in the UK has had to take her awesome hairstyle down after her school principal judged it inappropriate for school.

As 13-year-old student Poppy Leigh attended a private academy that requires a strict dress code, it was fair enough and totally the principal’s call, but still. Bah humbug much?

Especially when you consider how utterly fabulous she looked and how well she rocked her remarkable ‘do!

I mean, just look at her!

The year 8 student wrapped her hair around an empty water bottle and added fairy lights for an extra festive feel. But when she arrived at Manchester Health Academy on Thursday, she was told it wasn’t appropriate.

Poppy’s mum claims her daughter was told to put her hair down – or go home.

“I am quite upset really, it’s just Bah Humbug,” mum-of-three Christie said. “It’s just a bit of fun and Christmas cheer before she breaks up tomorrow.”

Mum Christie wanted to make it clear that her daughter did exactly as she was told and wasn’t too disappointed that she was unable to keep her fab hairstyle in for the entire day.

“Poppy wouldn’t come home because she loves school and is one of the top students, -so she had to take it out.”

“She just wanted to make things a bit more exciting.”

Well, we can all agree that she certainly nailed that objective.

Principal Keven Green said: “The Academy has the highest of expectations around uniform and teaching and learning, and all through this week, staff and students have remained focused on learning.

“Friday is a day where there will be a series of Christmas assemblies and a time for students to reflect with friends and staff about the Christmas period.

“At no point did the Academy send a student home.

“The child concerned is a wonderful student and, whilst it was a remarkably creative hairstyle, it was, unfortunately, inappropriate for school.”

And that’s fair enough too!
