This Brisbane Couple’s Adorable Marriage Proposal Goes Viral After a Toddler Was Involved
If you’ve ever been in the immediate vicinity of a toddler, you will understand that they have a tendency to ruin everything. It’s not their fault, they are tiny humans in training. But you can’t trust them with anything you don’t want to be destroyed.
This brings us to our story. Brisbane couple Luke and Stephanie recently celebrated their engagement with a lovely proposal involving her toddler Harpie Jane.
The young family are captured in a video clip on a jetty beside the water with young Harpie Jane front and centre.
In the clip that has been shared on Tiktok and viewed over 34 million times, Luke is down on one knee preparing to propose to Stephanie with the toddler in front of him holding the ring box.
But suddenly there is a fumble, the sparkling ring slips out of little fingers, then rolls across the pier and drops through the boards out of sight into the water below as the couple tries in vain to catch it.

Luke springs into action, his thongs flying off as they often do in times of crisis. Despite warnings of shallow water, we hear a splash as he jumps right in, desperate to find the engagement ring that just seconds ago was safely in its little gift box.
One person wrote in the comments, “This is why you don’t get kids involved in weddings or proposals!”, but Stephanie was quick to point out that her daughter wasn’t to blame.
“She’s a very helpful girl and always loves helping, she wasn’t in the wrong.”
All’s well that ends well, though, as our happy couple found the precious diamond ring and the proposal was able to go ahead as planned.
