Wedding Guest RSVPs To Invite Saying They Will Be Bringing Along 21 Extra People
Planning a wedding can be stressful at the best of times. There’s flowers, dresses and venues to worry about, not to mention accomodating all your wedding guests. Which is why receiving RSVPs is so important. But imagine if one guests responds YES they are coming but will also be bringing 21 extra people with them. What do you do?
Spare a thought for this couple who received the most outrageous wedding RSVP we’ve ever seen. Shared on Reddit, the RSVP showed that the invited guests would attend the wedding with 21 extra people.
YESS! That’s 21 EXTRA people. And no- it’s not all their kids either. Apparently the extra guests consisted of 14 extra adults and a few children and babies also.
The invitation was shared in r/weddingshaming, a subreddit where people can share ridiculous wedding stories such as this.
Not surprisingly, commenters on Reddit couldn’t believe the gall of these people.
“I would circle ‘decline’ and send it back,” one Reddit user said.
“I’m so shocked, that’s all I have. Just… the audacity of some people. Why would they think this is ok?” another user asked.
“This is only acceptable if they all show up in one Mini Cooper and chase each other around the reception hall with whipped cream pies and water squirting flowers.”
Another Reddit user said that they should ask for money for each extra guest. “Were those other people invited or are they just inviting them along? If the latter, mail back an invoice for the cost of each additional guest,” they said.
One person said that perhaps it was a cultural thing. “The only occasion where this would be understandable is if the invited person is from a culture where it’s acceptable to bring your entire family, whether or not they know the bride and groom. There are some cultures where it’s literally the more the merrier,” they said.
The truth however turned out to be even more unbelievable! “Apparently the bride who posted it didn’t block the names and her cousin ([whose] reply this is) flipped her nut,” they said.
So it was an actual family member who wanted to bring along 21 extra people?!!
Well, you know what they say. You can’t choose your family, right?
Unfortunately there was no update posted on Reddit, but at least now we know who the culprit was!
