Woman Gives Birth Alone In Hotel Room With Help From Youtube!
If there’s one positive to living in a day and age where we have technology at our fingertips it’s the fact that we can pretty much search for anything on Youtube and find it. Like how to unclog the kitchen sink, build a greenhouse or even deliver your baby.
Yep you heard that right! You can deliver your own baby with the help of a step by step tutorial on Youtube! If you don’t believe us, read on!
Tia Freeman’s story begins when she was in her third trimester and had no idea she was even pregnant. She was on contraception at the time so imagine her surprise when she realised that belly wasn’t from cake but from a real life baby!
Freeman shared the tale on twitter and began her story with: “I still really don’t understand what’s so shocking about my delivery story. Lol maybe it’ll set in one day.” Are you insane woman? This story is nothing short of kick ass amazing!
So, Freeman was on her way to visit a friend in Germany when a stop-over in Turkey proved to be more eventful than she imagined.
While waiting at customs, Freeman says she started getting severe cramps and initially thought it may have been due to the seafood she ate on the plane. Not because the seafood was off but because she was usually vegetarian but had opted to eat the fish cause she was so hungry. She soon realised these ‘cramps’ could very well be labour pains which is when her survival instincts kicked in.
“I start talking to myself like, ‘Bitch what you’re not gonna do is give birth on the airport floor. So you need to get it together & make it to your hotel,'” she wrote on Twitter.
Luckily, she made it to her hotel room but had no idea of how to speak the language or how to call an ambulance. The new mum soon realised there was no time to waste so she did what every good millennial would do…she googled it!
Using her phone to time her contractions, Freeman ran herself a bath and followed the instructions on Youtube.
My contractions were already at a minute a part lol I was late as hell. I BARELY made it to my room. ??? so I throw the towel in my mouth and start pushing. And I have NEVVVVEEERRRR felt any pain like this in my life. I felt like I was being split open. WHERE WAS MY EPIDURAL?! pic.twitter.com/HGlootcNHu

Her baby boy arrived quickly and she then delivered her own placenta with help from Google. And cut the umbilical cord – again, thanks to Google.
“The hotel had these sanitation baggies in the bathroom so I just picked it [the placenta] up by the cord and dropped it in the bag,” she said in a tweet. “Now it’s still attached to him so now I’ve got to google how to cut an umbilical cord.”
