George Michael may not have had any children of his own when he passed away but he did leave behind a number of Godchildren. The legendary singer, born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou was Godparent to a number of children of his celebrity friends including Geri Halliwell’s daughter Bluebell and Martin Kemps’ son Roman.

James Kennedy, who we know from reality show Vanderpump Rules is also lucky enough to have been one of Michael’s Godchildren. Kennedy, is the son of Andros Georgiou, who was very close friends with Michael since early childhood. Their fathers both immigrated from the same town in Cyprus as children. The pair remained close as Michael’s music career skyrocketed and Georgiou became an extremely successful music producer.

Sadly the two men hadn’t been on speaking terms for well over a decade ago over a disagreement. Andros said that Michael was upset with him because he had shared a photo of Michael’s late mother with a publication.

Following the news of Michael’s death on Christmas day Kennedy posted the following message and photo to his Instagram account:

Rest In Peace George I’m heartbroken we never got to speak again after so many years, I can’t believe this has happened, please watch over me in heaven Godfather. Enjoy paradise I love you. ❤️

Kennedy also shared the following photo which shows his dad with George Michael who is often referred to as Yog by his close friends (a version of his greek name Yiorgios).
