Rum Balls Recipe
With school holidays starting this week, having fun with your kids in the kitchen is a great way to keep them entertained – and it doesn’t get much easier than this rum balls recipe. With simple steps the whole family can get involved in, it’s the perfect recipe for your little helpers.
You will need:
250g of Marie / 5 oz Maria (or similar) biscuits
1 cup of coconut – plus extra to roll the balls in
2 tablespoons of cocoa
1 tin (375 gm / 13 oz) of condensed milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (or 4 teaspoons of rum if you prefer).
Let’s put it all together
Crush your biscuits until they are fine crumbs using either a food processor or a rolling pin.
Pour the crushed biscuits to a large bowl and add the coconut, cocoa, condensed milk and vanilla essence.
Using a large metal spoon, stir until all ingredients are combined.
Use a tablespoon to scoop up mixture and then using your hands roll into balls.
Roll the balls in coconut and place in a covered container in the fridge to firm.
