The Stars Of Full House- Where Are They Now?
The Full House spin off called Fuller House is nearing it’s premiere date of February 16th and anticipation has been mounting. It will be a 13 episode series which will screen on Netflix and focus on the recently widowed DJ Tanner (Candace Cameron-Bure) who is now a mum to three boys. All the original cast members are back to reprise their roles, except for Ashley Kate and Mary Olsen who played Michelle Tanner.
I still can’t believe it’s been 20 years since Full House gave the world John Stamos! Have Mercy! 20 years is a long time for sure- here’s what the cast members have been up to since then…
JOHN STAMOS — UNCLE JESSE
John Stamos landed a regular role in medical drama ER after Full House. He played Dr Tony Gates from 2006 to 2009. He also made a number of guest appearances in long running shows including Glee, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Two and a Half Men.
Stamos currently stars in the Fox comedy Grandfathered and will be in the upcoming My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.
BOB SAGET — DANNY TANNER
The actor and comedian directed the 1996 TV movie For Hope, a story inspired by the life of his sister, Gay Saget, who died from scelerdoerma three years earlier.
Did you know Saget also was the voice of the future Ted Mosby in sitcom How I Met Your Mother? He also played a fictionalised version of himself in four episodes of Entourage.
DAVE COULIER — JOEY GLADSTONE
The actor and comedian has hosted several shows since leaving Full House, including America’s Funniest People and America’s Most Talented Kid. He also voiced parts for Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose. Coulier has appeared in sitcoms including the Disney Channel’s The Thirteenth Year and The Even Stevens Movie.
He also founded his own children’s entertainment company F3 Entertainment in 2000. Most exciting though is the rumour that he is thought to be the ex-boyfriend that inspired Alanis Morissette’s angry 1995 breakup hit “You Oughta Know”.
CANDACE CAMERON-BURE — D.J. TANNER
Cameron guest starred on Cybill and Boy Meets World after Full House. She then took some time off having her children and devoting time to her family.
In 2014, she was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, finishing third. She has co-hosted The View and written three books, including Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness, which was a New York Times bestseller.
JODIE SWEETIN — STEPHANIE TANNER
Sweetin graduated from high school after Full House and returned to television by hosting the second season of the Fuse TV show Pants-Off Dance-Off.
In 2009, she focused on independent films, and appeared in two films: Port City and Redefining Love. In 2012, she was in the TV film Singled Out. Sweetin also wrote a memoir called unSweetined, which spoke about her battle with alcohol and drug abuse that began when Full House ended.
MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN — MICHELLE TANNER
After Full House, the Olsens released many direct-to-video films up to the early 2000s.
The twins then turned their backs on acting and, as adults, have devoted their attention to their successful fashion careers. In 2007, they were jointly ranked by Forbes as the eleventh-richest women in entertainment, with an estimated combined net worth of $US100 million. The twins will not be reprising their roles on Fuller House as they have said they no longer feel comfortable acting in front of a camera.
LORI LOUGHLIN — REBECCA DONALDSON KATSOPOLIS
Loughlin has been quite busy since Full House. She co-starred with Tony Danza in sitcom Hudson Street as well as starring in the film In the Line of Duty: Blaze of Glory and in thriller film Critical Mass.
Laughlin guest starred in shows including Suddenly Susan, Spin City, Seinfeld and The Drew Carey Show. Loughlin also co-created, produced and starred in The WB drama series Summerland. In 2010, she starred in the television film Meet My Mom, and co-starred in the first three seasons of the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off 90210.
ANDREA BARBER — KIMMY GIBBLER
Everyone’s best friend, Barber retired from acting and focused on starting a family. In 2002, she married Jeremy Rytky. The couple has two children — a son Tate (born April 2004) and a daughter Felicity (born April 2007).
SCOTT WEINGER — STEVE HALE
Steve Hale went on to be a TV writer and producer including co-executive producer of The Muppets. His credits include the television show Like Family and sitcom What I Like About You. He was also a writer-producer for 90210. After the series ended, he returned to comedy, becoming a writer-producer for The Neighbors. He played DJ’s boyfriend Steve.
