Our favourite podcasting funny ladies are up for the prestigious Best Comedy Podcast award at the 2023 Australian Podcast Industry Awards! 

“The Beautiful Nightmare” (formerly Motherhood: A Beautiful Nightmare) is our weekly fix for relatable chats, hilarious stories and all things silly, and so we’re beyond thrilled at the announcement. To make the milestone even more special – Shanelle and Tamara are the only women to be nominated in this category!

Whether it’s with their laugh-out-loud characters Rhonda and Raelene, quick fix episodes Tit Bits (based on a Mum’s Lounge article each week!) or just making it up as they go along, Shanelle and Tamara navigate the shitstorm of life, giving you permission to stop, feel heard and perhaps pour a beverage of choice. 

“We are absolutely buzzing with this news and it’s a wonderful feeling to be recognised within the podcast industry at such a high level” said Shanelle and Tamara.

Joining some of the best in the business, the four other finalists in the Comedy category are heavyweights The Chaser, Tony Martin, Aunty Donna, and winner for the past three years running, A Rational Fear. Shanelle and Tamara are the only women to have reached the finals in their category and are proud to be flying the flag for Aussie Women in Comedy at the Australian Podcast Industry Awards. 

Forming a bond on-air as radio announcers in the mid 00’s, the pair’s undeniable chemistry and drive has seen them maintain a strong friendship and working relationship ever since. As well as touring, content creating and podcasting together they have MC’d media events for major brands such as Bonds, Aussie Gold and the national charity Share the Dignity.

The awards will be held, and winners announced, on Tuesday 21 November at the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour.
