5 Dresses to Wear This Summer 2016

5 dresses to wear this summer

Summer screams dress season and all for good reasons. The weather is warm and this time of year is a hive of activity with Spring Racing Carnivals, end of year functions, Christmas parties, Christmas day and of course New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The dress is my favourite piece of clothing because you chuck it on and are pretty much done. It makes getting up to do the school run easy and means less time meandering in the wardrobe for an appropriate ensemble.

If you’re looking to add some dresses to you wardrobe this season, here are some of the hottest styles you might like to consider.

Tassels and Pom Poms

These fun embellishments are being seen on everything from fashion to accessories and even homewares. We love the gorgeous details in these dresses. They add an eclectic vibe to a simple dress.

T-shirt Dress

My favourite summer, everyday dress is the t-shirt dress. The devil is in the details – not to short and skims over bumps acquired over winter. These styles will wash well time and time again so you can get good wear out of them.

Florals

Can’t go past a gorgeous floral dress for summer. It’s a timeless pattern, perfect for Spring Racing and Cocktail parties.

Off The Shoulder – OTS

Off the Shoulder is a big deal this summer. For great tips on how to wear an OTS number (ie bra and how to keep the sleeves creeping up your shoulder) check out this post from Nikki from Styling You. OTS dresses are in demand this summer. If you find a dress you love, grab it because it won’t be available for long.

Cold Shoulder

For those of us that can’t embrace the OTS trend, the cold shoulder dress may be the perfect fit for you. No need for a strapless bra and you get to still have your shoulders on show.
