Embrace Bright Bold Colours This Summer

caterpillar dress

caterpillar dressSummer is just around the corner and it’s time to get out from under those winter contour concealing clothes and into the colourful brights of summer! This season we are seeing an array of gorgeous bright colours and floral printed fabrics making a comeback! Bold bright colours like tangerine, mango, pawpaw, mint green and banana are huge this spring/summer and are being worn as tops with transparent shoes, footwear with metallic toes, huge platforms and high heels, as well as shining shoes. Caramel and Latte hues including coral, cream, peach and banana will be gorgeous as the foundation for brights such as pants or a skirt. Despite the fact ‘hang bag’ is considered an accessory it can totally change your look. Summer bags this year are elaborate and unusual. They come knitted, printed, with rivets and transparent details, chain handles and wrist straps. But the biggest hits of the season are the clutch bag and wallet which are so small they can hold only keys, lipstick and credit cards for special events.

With such bright colours on offer this summer, it is important to understand how to wear these bold colours with style, confidence and flair. Styling is more important than ever when working and combining these ‘attention seeking’ colours. This is to ensure that regardless of what colours you wear, they complement your skin tone and the shape flatters your figure. Also spend plenty of time on accessories as they pull the outfit together, especially when using bright colours.

Likes: Reading, cooking, sketching, dancing (preferably with a Sav Blanc in one hand), social media, and sitting down on a toilet seat that one of her children hasn’t dripped, splashed or sprayed on. Dislikes: Writing pretentious crap about herself in online bio’s and refereeing arguments amongst her offspring.
